Title: Stochastic models in population genetics.

Stochastic models have been very successful in the area of population genetics for modeling both gene evolution as well as gene genealogies. We will introduce simple stochastic models, which have been widely used, and discuss modifications that have been made to incorporate selection, mutation and recombination of genes as well as a spatial structure of the population.
