Grade computation

Grades will be determined by the scores on

• three midterm exams (100 points each)

• a final exam (200 points)

• Maple projects (combined score will count as one exam)

• graded home work (combined score will count as half an exam)

The grade will be determined as follows:

ALS = (sum of lprojects scores) X 100/(Max possible sum of project scores)

AHS = (sum of HW scores) X 50/(Max possible sum of HW scores)

percentage score = (exam1 + exam2 + exam3 + final + ALS + AHS) X 100/650

The grade cutoffs, based on the percentage score, will be the following:

96-100 (A); 90-95 (A-); 85-89 (B+); 80-84 (B); 75-79 (B-); 70-74 (C+); 65-69 (C); 60-64 (C-); 57-59 (D+); 53-56 (D); 50-52 (D-); below 50 (F).
