Topic I: Fast algorithms (BEM-FMM) and analysis for frequency-domain unsteady Stokes equations
Development and analysis of a fast solver for the unsteady Stokes equations in porous media with complex microstructure such as the one shown on the left panel. -
Topic II: Dehomogenization of two-phase composite materials
The tools needed are the theory of several complex variables and regularization tools for inverse problems. Basic knowledge of functional analysis is required.
Basic knowledge of the theory of integral equations and the boundary element method(BEM). Need to know FORTRAN and Matlab.
