Progress as of January 1999

I spent an inordinate amount of christmas vacation in the garage!

Here is some of what's been done since November 1998:
Bodywork Tub is off and somewhat straightened. Now being cleaned. Some painting needs to be done to control corrosion. I am contemplating ignoring this.
Brakes Brake pedal installed (with new master cylinder). A first attempt to bleed the brakes failed. The 5-way connector is bad. New connector and a new line to the rear flex hose was sourced. A second attempt succeeded after reflairing the original line.
Chassis Rear cross member done! Chassis is now painted (hurray). Thanks to Tom, Bill and Doug for straightening the rear cross member. Also to Tom for welding.
Clutch Clutch pedal installed (with new master cylinder). Clutch slave cylinder replaced (new). Clutch bleeding ok and it seems to work!
Engine Inlet and exhaust manifold (new) on. Starter on. Exhaust pipe/silencer on. Radiator on and connected up. Accelerator pedal and linkage installed.
Front axle Brake lines on.
Rear Axle Brake lines and breather line on.
Steering Needs the wheel rotated so it looks right when the wheels are straight ahead.

In late January Tom Bache collected the IIa on his trailer and took it to his workshop. There Tom, Bill Schofield and Doug Boehme used precision Land Rover technology (heat and a BIG hammer) to straighten my rear cross-member (see here for a picture before straightening).

Here is how we finally aligned the crossmember:

Thanks for the good work guys!
