First off-road April 2000

The truck passed inspection February 2000 (during a brief warm spell).  To get it there here is some of what's been done since November 1999:

Bodywork Doors and fenders are on but not painted.  One Jerry Can holder is on.  New canvas hood from Paddocks, UK.  It fits pretty well. New front seats (great extravagance - from Atlantic British).  New center cubby box (D-90 style).
Engine New radiator (yes, the old radiator sprang a leak as soon as I filled it with water).  New voltage regulator.
Fuel system. Lots of problems.  New(!) fuel pump has a malfunctioning return valve.  Lots of crud on the filter (not in the carb - phew).
Steering Oil leak from steering relay.
Transmission. Pops out of low box.  Very noisy. Strange grinding on the over-run.

First day off-road was in the Pine Barrens (about 3 hours drive by Series Land Rover).  The truck went fine there AND back.  Stearing became more and more vague due to the bad relay.  Truck did well on the trials course. Obviously a transmission is in my future.
