Math 242, Spring 2013
Sections 010, 012, 014

About your tests

There will be 3 in-class tests and 1 final exam.

Calculators are not allowed and should not be needed.

Cheat sheets are not allowed either. However, the last page of the 3 in-class tests will contain a small number of possibly useful formulas.

Each in-class test will be 50 minutes, and your final exam will be 120 minutes.

Each in-class test will have 6 questions on 6 pages. So you will have an average of just over 8 minutes per question.

Your final exam will be a common exam shared with all sections of Math 242. It will be approximately twice as long as the in-class tests.

UPDATE: The final exam will not necessarily be identical for all sections, but it will be similar.

The final exam will take place sometime during the final exam period (May 16th to 23rd).
I have no control over the date. The date will be announced sometime during the semester.
Please keep this in mind when making holiday plans.

The final exam will cover everything in the course.
The in-class tests will focus on material learned after the previous test.
In advance of each test, I will tell you which sections of the textbook the test will cover.
