Dinner has been planned for Friday evening (6:30pm) at Cafe
Gelato on Main Street. Cost is $25 for graduate students and
$30 for faculty and postdocs. Please bring cash so that we
can collect it on Friday afternoon.
to UD at Newark
The closest airport is the
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), at about 40
minutes from Newark DE. A shuttle service (click here
) can be
hired for shared rides from and to the airport (estimated
cost $100 for the round trip.)
An alternative airport is
the Baltimore Washington International Ariport (BWI), at
about 90 minutes from Newark. The same shuttle company
services this airport.
Some few Amtrak trains get
to Newark DE. The closest well serviced station is
Wilmington DE, at about 20 minutes from UD campus.

been reserved at the Embassy Suites Newark/Wilmington (654
South College Ave, Newark DE 19713). (Click here to make
) The rate is $134 plus 8%
occupancy tax, including breakfast. Rooms will be held
until September 18 (one month before the meeting). Note
that the October 18 weekend there's a campus wide activity
and hotels might get to reach maximum occupancy.
Other options for accommodation are the Super 8 on East
Main Street (link

Courtyard Marriott in the north campus (link
- Friday parking is available at the Trabant Parking
Garage, right by the conference venue. This is a
parking structure where you will need to pick a ticket
to enter. If you are planning to use this on Friday,
tell us in advance (we
need one week notice) and we will give you a
- Saturday parking is available at the Parking Lot #19
(10 minute walk from the conference). You will need a
parking permit to leave your car there. We can provide
it, but we have to be asked with one week's notice.

needparking permits for Friday and/or Saturday.
From the South Campus area (where the Embassy Suites is
located), you can use the University of Delaware system of
shuttles to get to the FEC venue. Information about UD
buses can be found here
There's live tracking on the website so that you don't
have to wait. You'll need to stop at the (quite visible)
Smith overpass. The
hotel has a shuttle service as well.
