Foundations of Numerical Analysis: An Introduction Using Matlab, T.A. Driscoll and R.J. Braun.
(a textbook fairly far along toward publication.) I will distribute
the first chapter
at the beginning of the course. The bound
text for the semester will be purchased for $15 a little bit later; the money
helps to cover copying costs.
I produced this little list of exercises for practice in beginning Matlab in
pdf format. It is not a true
Matlab tutorial; it is part tutorial, part problem list.
Some potentially helpful sites follow for getting MatLab help:
From the MathWorks web site (MatLab's developer), there is extensive help and
documentation here.
UD Math's Toby Driscoll has a very good, but perhaps advanced, MatLab tutorial
available in pdf format.
Two other introductions may be useful as well, with one in
pdf format
by David F. Griffiths at Dundee, UK, and the other in
html format
by Graeme Chandler, Uni Queensland, Australia.
