- Software
- We will use Matlab for this course.
We will start off with a review of Matlab and we'll use the current version of
Basic Matlab exercises. This version was updated Feb 14 to fix a few typos on p. 6 (that is the only
different page as of now).
-
Matlab Script and Function Files that we are likely to use are at this page. This list is
likely to have some changes as the semester progresses.
- Some potentially helpful sites follow for getting matlab help.
- From the MathWorks web site (Matlab's developer), there is extensive help and
documentation here.
- An introduction that may be useful is
pdf format
by David F. Griffiths at Dundee, UK.
- Conjugate Gradient Tutorial by Jonathan Shewchuk
- How to Succeed in This Class
- The formula is pretty simple:
- Do the homework and projects.
- Keep up with class.
- Study for tests by being able to do the homework problems and
problems like them.
- Read the text.
- Ask questions about things that don't seem clear!
- I'll work hard to try to make you successful in this class; you'll need to
work at it too.
