Course Description: In this course, we will explore applications of finite element theory to solving special classes of partial differential equations. The emphasis will be on the numerical methods for solving boundary value problems with constrains. Topics will include finite element tools and spaces, adaptive finite elements, saddle point problems, applications to Stokes systems, building efficient algorithms for solving second order PDEs arising from fluid flow problems and from linear elasticity problems.
Homework: Check it often.
