Course Description: Matrices. Systems of linear equations. Vector spaces, linear dependence and independence, basis and dimension. Linear transformations. Determinants. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
Text Book: Elementary Linear Algebra: 8TH edition , by Bernard Kolman and David R. Hill
Material to be covered:Parts of Chapter 1- Chapters 7 and Chapter 9.
Homework: Homework will be assigned and will be collected regularly. Late problem sets will not be accepted unless prior permission is granted. No homework assignments are accepted after the graded assignments have been returned.

Exams:There will be two in-class midterm exams (October 18, November 22) and a comprehensive FINAL EXAM (12/16/05 1:00-3:00 PM).
Final Grade : Midterm exams (40%), Final exam (30%), Homework, Project and Quizzes (30%).

A- > 90%, B- >80% , C- >70, D- > 60%, F<60%.
