Course Description:
Vectors. Systems of linear equations. Matrix algebra and determinants. Vector spaces, linear dependence and independence, basis and dimension. Linear transformations, matrix representation and similarity transformations
Text Book: Linear Algebra: A modern introduction, by David Poole
Material to be covered: Chapter 1- Chapter 6 ; Chapters 7 (if time permits) .
Homework: Homework will be assigned and will be collected regularly. Late problem sets will not be accepted unless prior
permission is granted. No homework assignments are accepted after the graded
assignments have been returned.

REVIEW for the FINAL EXAM
Extra office hours: 12/12/04 , 5-7:00PM and 12/08/04, 9-11:00AM.
Exams:There will be two in-class midterm exams (October 7, November 23) and a comprehensive FINAL EXAM (Monday- December 13, 1:00-3:00PM).
Final Grade : Midterm exams (40%), Final exam (30%), Homework
and Quizzes (30%).
