Letter grades will be assigned on the basis of your total point score for the semester; I reserve the right to adjust this scale to improve grades if I believe that the course material proves to be unreasonably demanding. However, if your scores fall in ranges listed below, you are guaranteed the associated letter grade.

Letter Grade Point Range Letter Grade Point Range
A 93-100 C 73-76
A- 90-92 C- 70-72
B+ 87-89 D+67-69
B 83-86D 63-66
B- 80-82 D- 60-62
C+ 77-79 F < 60

  1. A subset of assigned problems will be collected and graded periodically. You are required to keep a 3-ring binder with your solutions to the assigned problems written clearly and neatly. Do NOT wait until the day before problems are called for to work homework problems. That is a losing strategy!
  2. Homework problems are to be done individually. You may consult with others, but the work you hand in must be your own. Duplicates will receive a grade of zero. For complete information on the University Policy on Academic Honesty go to:

    http://www.udel.edu/stuguide/11-12/code.html

  3. The will be no make-up examinations given. If you should miss an examination, your other hour exam scores will be averaged provided you have a valid excuse from the Dean's Office or Health Center. Unexcused absences will result in a grade of zero. You must take the final on the announced day and time.
  4. Note that the drop date for the semester is Monday, April 16 which is after the Spring Break.
