Wave propagation in poroelastic materials

Abstract: In this talk, I will start with introducing the governing equations of wave propagations in poroelastic materials -- a class of composites consisting of elastic matrix and viscous fluid. The multiscale nature of the problem will be explained and numerical results will be presented. Some materials of the talk are joint work with R. Gilbert, R. LeVeque, G. Lemone and S.
