We discuss the stability of a receding front at the growing rim of a thin liquid film dewetting from a solid substrate. The role of slippage at the liquid-solid interface in the emerging instability is analyzed asymptotically and numerically and compared to recent experimental results. Some ongoing extensions to liquid-liquid dewetting will also be discussed.
