The adaptive conforming and nonconforming finite element methods for the fourth order problem.

Abstract: In this talk, we present some new advances on the adaptive algorithms for the fourth order problem. First, we introduce a new lowest order conforming finite element method and the corresponding adaptive version for the fourth order prolem. We shall analyze their convergence and optimality. Second, we shall present the convergence and optimality of the adaptive Morley element method for the fourth order problem.
