G-convergence and homogenization of elliptic operators
Alexander Pankov
Abstract: The talk concerns G-convergence theory of elliptic operators.
This is a powerful tool in studying many problems such as homogenization
and optimal design. We discuss basics of the theory in the case of linear
elliptic operators as well as applications to homogenization of highly
oscillating elliptic equations in periodic setting. We also touch upon some
further developments such as nonlinear operators and random homogenization.
