Financial Support
Note: All fellowships and assistantships include tuition.
When assessing financial aid, please bear in mind that the Newark area is not as costly as other areas of the east coast of the USA. You can find some
estimates of costs of study (remember that our support includes tuition) prepared by the University of Delaware Foreign Students & Scholars Services.
Sources of basic stipends (9 month)
- Unidel Fellowships
Generous departmental fellowships are available for high quality applicants in any area of mathematics covered by our Department. These fellowships are for research assistant positions and are not restricted by citizenship; they are awarded for one year (12 month contract). There are no teaching duties associated with these fellowships.
- Teaching Assistantships
Teaching assistantships are the main means of support for graduate students in our Department. This support is for nine-month duration with half-time teaching duties, typically for problem sessions and grading primarily undergraduate courses.
- Research Assistantships
Research assistantships which generally include summer support are sometimes available for externally funded projects.
