Dr. David Hallenbeck (1941 - 2007)
Regretfully, Professor Emeritus Dr. David Hallenbeck passed away unexpectedly in April of
2007. Professor Hallenbeck served in our Department of Mathematical Sciences for over 30
years before his retirement in 2003. He had a distinguished career, with important contributions
in research, service and teaching during his tenure as a faculty at the University of Delaware.
He was also well-known for his expertise and love of birds. More details on Dr. Hallenbeck's

A memorial fund honoring Professor Hallenbeck has been established, at the request of his family,
with the goal of funding a seminar series for the graduate students in the Department of Mathematical
