Dear Sunny and Jamie; our deepest condolences to you... It seemed yesterday that we went to an early Sunday morning hockey game to watch Jamie play, then, Wenbo explained to us with great excitement about the game outside the locker room... It also seemed yesterday that we played cards after dinner at your party and listening to Wenbo about the mathemetical odds of winning and losing... Wenbo will be fondly remembered and our hearts go to you and the family. Love, Jinglan and Dennis

Wenbo was a very talented, energetic and vital force in the field of probability theory, as well as an enthusiastic and gracious host. His passing will leave a great gap in our community of researchers and friends. I will always remember working with him to help keep probability alive at Delaware.

My deepest condolences to Wenbo's family.

Our paths intersected several times over the years, and during his IMA stay last fall we had many interesting, mathematical and otherwise, discussions.

I had the great pleasure to do joint mathematical work with Wenbo over a long period. Twice we were together for two weeks in Oberwolfach by virtue of the Research in Pair program. I became aquainted with his deep mathematical knowledge and his tricky ideas. I will miss him and the discussions with him very much. My condolences go to his wife and his son; both I met in Wenbo's house as well as during their visit in Jena.

Wenbo was a warm and open mathematician. I was lucky to see him talk at the CBMS lectures he gave at UAH this summer organized by Dongsheng Wu and Kyle Siegrist. His lectures were beautiful and informative. He also talked to my grad student for quite some time telling her about a conjecture for random permutations and showing her how she might numerically test it. He was very generous with his time.
