Governor Jack Markell, Co-Lead of the Common Core Standards, National Governors Association, invited Alfinio Flores to participate in the validation committee for the Common Core Standards Initiative. The validation committee will provide an independent expert review of the college- and career-readiness, and K-12 common core standards. The Common Core Standards Initiative is developing a common core of state standards in English-language arts and mathematics for grades K-12.
