Prof. David Colton of the mathematical sciences department
has been named as one of only two members of the Foreign Advisory
Board of the Finnish Inverse Problems Society. Prof. Colton, a UNIDEL chaired professor, was recognized for his many years of research in the mathematical and numerical analysis of inverse scattering problems for acoustic and electromagnetic waves, on which he is one of the world's leading authorities.
Founded in 1997, the Finnish Inverse Problems Society promotes research activities within the field of inverse problems in Finland and maintains and improve the connections between the various research groups working in this area. For more details about the society, please access its Web site at
