Professors Cakoni and Colton and Monk Receive AFOSR Grant

Professors Cakoni,Colton and Monk have received a grant of $737,617 from the Air Force of Scientific Research for a three year project titled "Applications of Electromagnetic Waves to Problems in Nondestructive Testing and Target Identification". This project is concerned with the nondestructive testing of airplane canopies through the use of the theory of transmission eigenvalues,the extension of the linear sampling method to the time domain and the detection of wires on the surface of the earth from measurements taken above the earth.
