Visitor Parking at Caltech

Visitors are required to display a permit if their vehicle is parked on campus
between the hours of 7am–5pm, Monday–Friday. (No permit is required after
5pm.) Visitors must park in the Commuter (General) parking area.

Visitor permits are available at automated pay stations at the following locations
(click here for a parking zone map):

Visitor permits may be purchased at the rate of $1 per hour, $5 per day, or
$15 per week. A $5 daily permit is valid through the end of the business day
(5pm) in which the permit is purchased. (No permit is required after 5pm.)

Examples:

Air Transportation

Los Angeles' main airport, LAX, is about 45-60 minutes from Caltech;
Burbank airport is 20-30 minutes but has fewer flights. Long Beach
and Ontario are less convenient but possible.

People who are not U.S. citizens who will be traveling from outside the U.S. to participate in this conference may find detailed information concerning necessary visas for their trips on a website maintained by the International Visitors Office of the U.S. National Academies of Science. It is strongly recommended that ample time be allowed for completion of the application process—at least three months, or earlier, before your anticipated arrival date.
