Conference on Applied Analysis and Mathematical Biology
August 8-9, 2012
University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716
In Honor of Professor Robert Gilbert's 80th Birthday
The proposed conference will serve as a forum of fruitful communication
between researchers in biological sciences
working in bone modelling and applied mathematicians with expertise in
applied analysis.
As can be seen from the speaker list, all of the invited scientists are in bone and/or physiology
related fields with
a strong quantitative component in their research. This is to keep a
focused application scope for the conference.
It is recognized that biological problems may require
expertise from several disciplines in applied mathematics/analysis due
to its complexity.
The participants will be able to learn and communicate with each other
through formal presentations and dedicated discussion time.
The expected outcome of the conference is mutually beneficial
collaboration between biological scientists and applied analysts.
