Computing is a very important component of learning, research and teaching at the Mathematical Sciences department. We have our own extensive computing resources in addition to those provided by the University. Faculty, staff and graduate students with offices are provided with a computer in their individual work spaces.
We have a mixture of all common types of computers and operating systems. Faculty and staff typically use whatever system they are comfortable with - Windows, Mac OS X or Linux. Graduate students primarily use Linux.
Shared laser printers are available throughout our building, John Ewing Hall. In addition to this, some faculty and staff have private printers depending on their duties. Graduate students typically use the shared printers.
