Course Content

Math 242 is the second course in the three course calculus sequence. The prerequisites and a brief course description of Math 242 or a detailed list of the topics and sections of the textbook covered in Math 242 are available. In Math 242, traditional calculus is supplemented by an introduction and a reasonable mastery of the Maple computer algebra package.

Student Assessment

Student's mastery of the material covered in this course will be assessed on three midterm exams, a final exam, several Maple labs, graded homeworks, and a Maple test. The results of these assessments will be made available using Sakai. I have prepared a document giving a detailed description how a student's grade will be computed.

The course fulfills several of the departmental program goals and the general education goals of the University of Delaware.

Class Management Policies

Students are strongly encouraged to read the detailed description of the class management policies for Math 242.
