How to host a special session

There will also be a dozen or so special sessions which can be organized by anyone interested in holding one. To create a special session for the meeting, you simply come up with a list of names of people who would like to participate and send the list to the AMS. Persons outside the University of Delaware can also organize special sessions at the meeting. For information and tips on organizing a successful special session, see

http://www.ams.org/meetings/specialsessionmanual.html

To coordinate a special session, you should contact Leslie Sibner (lsibner@duke.poly.edu) with a list of invitees.  Once the special session is organized, it will be posted through AMS web site for our meeting (click on "unscheduled events").

Others might be attracted to it and may ask to join.  You will notice that a small number of sessions have already been organized.  The AMS provides no travel support, so generally the interest will be regional.  The deadline to form special sessions currently set for September 4, 2004.
