International Workshop on Geometric Methods in Dynamical Systems

Workshop Description

The Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of Delaware plans to host a workshop on geometric methods in dynamical systems in June, 2004, as the second part of a series of workshops held between Polish and American researchers with common interests. The first workshop was held in July, 2002, at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. The group of mathematicians involved share a common interest in geometric and topological methods used to study dynamical systems. The methods of interest do not require a gradient structure; they are widely applicable to continuous and discrete dynamical systems and are generally robust with respect to perturbations. The research has both theoretical and practical applications. It addresses the theory of nonlinear dynamical systems as well as computational techniques for investigating real dynamical systems.
