Dear Colleagues,
It is time to register for the IV-th International Conference on High
Dimensional Probability.
Here is some extra information and a registration form.
LOCATION: The conference will be held, June 20-24, 2005, at St John's
College
campus located in the foothills of Sangre de Cristo Mountains
overlooking Santa Fe.
The college is within walking distance from downtown Santa Fe:
about 15 minutes walk to Canyon Road, with numerous art galleries
and a further 15-20 minutes walk to Santa Fe Plaza, with the
major attractions in the town.
TRAVEL: Most of the participants will probably be arriving at the
Albuquerque International
Airport (approximately 70 miles from the college); some might also
arrive at the Santa Fe Municipal Airport (about 10 miles away from
campus).
Shuttle service to Santa Fe is available from both airports.
From Santa Fe to the college, one can either walk, take a taxi,
or use public transportation
(there is a small inexpensive bus between Santa Fe and the College).
Here is a web site for the shuttle from the Albuquerque airport to
Santa Fe:

ACCOMMODATIONS: Some of you may prefer to stay in hotels in Santa Fe,
but these could be expensive, and we have reserved a number of rooms in
the College
(for about forty people); also, reserving rooms in the college was part
of the deal
and we could not have had the meeting there without these reservations.
The college offers several options:
1. Double dorm rooms - $58 per person, per day, three meals included.
2. Single dorm rooms - $70 per person, per day, three meals included.
3. Single suite rooms - $75 per person, per day, three meals included.
4. Apartments (for up to two people) - $160 per apartment, per day, three meals included.
There are several dorm rooms (single or double) on each of two floors
for a total of eight to ten people per floor. Each floor shares a
bathroom.
Each suite has five individual bedrooms, is carpeted, has a
common living area, a large bathroom and opens onto a courtyard.
Each apartment has two bedrooms, is carpeted, fully furnished and
contains a full kitchen and private bath.
We decided to go for the three meals plan because the price difference
with
other meal plans (one or two meals) was $10 or less per person
per day.
Skipped meals will not be refunded, but even under this condition
the three meals plan looked better than the others.
The accommodations on campus will be distributed on a
"first come, first serve" basis (in the case of the apartments,
the preference will be given to the participants coming with family
members).
If you want to stay on campus, the best way to ensure availability of
the room
is to register early and to let us know your preferences. Please,
indicate also with
whom you would prefer to share a room (if it's a double room),
a suite or an apartment. If we have more requests for
accommodations on campus than what is currently available,
we can try to get more rooms, but it should be done in advance.
If you want a suit you should act as soon as possible.
Those of you who plan to stay in the College and would like to secure a
room,
should include a DEPOSIT of $200 per person for dorm/suite or
$400 per apartment.
You can pay the rest once you arrive there.
If you would prefer to stay in a hotel, here is a web site with several
hotels near the College:

REGISTRATION: The registration fee will include, besides use of the
College facilities,
refreshments during breaks, and excursion and banquet on
Wednesday.
We need some money to pay for the rent of the common facilities:
conference room,
overhead, use of the campus, etc. We have set it at $200,
and any unspent money from the registration fee will be refunded after
the conference.
ACCOMPANYING PERSONS: The registration, covering use of Campus
facilities,
excursion and banquet, is set at $100.
DEADLINE: The deadline for registration and deposit is April 15,
and the reason is that we need to meet deadline payments with the
College.
Refund policy: 100% refundable at once on or before May 1st;
cancellations after May 1st will also be refunded at the end of the
conference,
hopefully in full, after the conference obligations with the
college have been met.
The registration fee is $200 on or before April 15, and $230 if paid
later.
METHOD OF PAYMENT of Registration ($200, or, with accompanying person,
$300)
and Campus Housing deposit ($200 per person for dorm/suite or $400 per
apartment):
Make a check for the total, in US dollars,
payable to High Dimensional Probability IV or to HDPIV, and send it to

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We have submitted proposals to NSF and NSA,
and we know at present that some money will be available from NSF.
We will not know from NSA until a later date. To be considered for
financial assistance,
please indicate in the registration form the minimum amount you need
in order to attend the meeting. We will try to accommodate as many of
you as possible,
particularly young researchers and participants that do not have
grants.
ORGANIZATION: There will be two 1-hour talks and 6-8 1/2 hour
talks per day,
except Wednesday (1/2 of that) and times will be set up for problem and
discussion sessions.
The Committee will select the speakers from among all the participants
and will make an effort to accommodate all. Please indicate in the
registration form,
besides title and a short abstract of your proposed talk,
whether you need to give a talk in order to obtain financial assistance
from your University.
HOW TO REGISTER: Please go to the web page
http://www.math.udel.edu/php/deptapps/hdp_reg.php
and fill the form up. You will be CCed so that you receive the same
message
as the organizers. You can fill the registration form below and send it
back
by email to wli@math.udel.edu
We hope to see you soon in Santa Fe.
Sincerely,
Evarist Gin\'e, Vladimir Koltchinskii, Wenbo Li and Joel Zinn
