University of Delaware has a site license for the software WebCT which is a very effective web based tool for maintaining student's grades, distributing electronic files, and other course related activities. Chat rooms may be setup where an instructor could hold an electronic help session at a preset time.

For efficiency, the IT center insists that the instructor attend an introductory session of WebCT before the instructor can set up the WebCT page for the course.

Grades may also be maintained on a spread sheet. The class roster may be obtained in electronic format using ezforms and then transferred to the spread sheet. This saves some tedious typing.

For instructors not choosing to use WebCT, files may be distributed from their personal web site.
